Holland's Pies from Sainsburys
Here is a picture of a Hollands pie bought in one of the Sainsburys stores.

It was about to go in the bin but was offered to the dog instead, who licked at it then left it.
Could this be the true cost of lower and lower prices and BOGOF(Buy One Get One Free) offers. As prices are driven down further and further it may be that the quality just can't be sustained.
This is a Hollands Potatoe And Meat Pie, on taking the top crust off what was inside was 2 pieces of potatoe and a load of beige 'mush', no visible pieces of meat at all. The mush I presume would be described as gravy, but not like the gravy you would expect your mum to make, it was more like wallpaper paste in consistency and colour.
It may be that Hollands distribute their good quality pies through other channels, it may be that this was simply a bad batch.
Remember when a Hollands pie was a real joy to eat, good pieces of meat, aaahhh the good old days.
It would be interesting to find out just how much protein there is in their potato and meat pies nowadays and it begs the question how much are they relying on their old good name to still sell pies which are not the same quality as they used to be.
