Opus Energy
Opus Energy recently sent us a "FINAL DEMAND FOR PAYMENT".
We've always paid our bills on time but Opus Energy are so keen you wonder
if they are about to go into administration.
The Supply period is for 17th July 2009 to 25th October 2009, we received
the final demand on 28th October 2009 so they do seem to be a bit desperate.
The letter threatens "legal action / disconnection proceedings".
Because of their very poor service and prices we decided to move to a different supplier, maybe they are a bit annoyed.
If you don't enter into a contract with Opus they don't like it and charge 75p to 99p a day for the standing charge to try to force you into a year long or 2 year long contract. This gives the customer an unnecessary sense of urgency and may force them into a decision they didn't want to make until they were sure of getting a good deal.
Rather than pander to them we decided to walk away and chose another supplier who gave us a far better deal.
